A 1950s fisherman’s cottage at Cala La Barraca, Jávea, built without an architect by local fishermen who carried every material by boat. Protected by Spain’s Ley de Costas, the structure could not be altered. Studio Jessica Bataille refreshed the interiors: white lime walls, blue carpentry, wicker furniture and natural fibres — preserving the original spirit while adapting the house to modern comfort.
